How are the preparations going for IWA Outdoor Classics 2019?
Preparations are going very well – IWA 2019, taking place as always at the exhibition center Nuremberg, Germany, on March 8-11, will be bigger than ever, once again. During the last edition in 2018, we were able to welcome more than 1,560 exhibitors and 46,500 trade visitors from 121 countries, i.e. literally all over the world.
For 2019, we are expecting almost 1,600 exhibitors from the theme worlds of hunting, shooting sports, outdoor activities and security. Plus being the biggest exhibition of knives in the world makes IWA OutdoorClassics a must event for everybody in the trade. Eleven exhibition halls with a total space of more than 100,000 sq.metres offer a comprehensive world-class range of products and services – that’s the size of more than 14 football fields!

When entering IWA 2019 via the main entrance “Mitte”, visitors will right away encounter an interesting presentation of some of the innovations at the New Product Center – having a look around there is one of the best options to start your trip through the vast product range.
In 2019 specialist retailers will also have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the future of retail. The future of specialist retailing, “going digital”, can be explored in two areas of the special display area “Retail 4.0”: How will retail behaviour be changing in the digital era? What kind of opportunities as well as market challenges can be expected? And how should specialist retailers organise themselves to continue to be successful in bricks-and-mortar retail settings in the digital era? Examples and opportunities closely related to the POS will be shown. With the help of a VR application, visitors can experience the digital customer journey. In addition, more than 15 discussions and presentations invite the visitor to learn more about e-commerce, online marketing, social media, best practice examples, market trends and much more. This segment will highlight the requirements that future customers will have and explore how specialist retailers can respond.
Who can visit the show?
IWA OutdoorClassics is a B2B trade show, so in order to attend, you must be working in the industry and sales of outdoor activities, hunting, shooting sports or security. Which means: admission is restricted exclusively to trade visitors. Children and young people under 18 years of age are not admitted to the exhibition. This is the only way we can ensure the event’s competence as a world-leading trade fair and business hub. However, IWA OutdoorClassics is also an annual meeting point for the international trade media.
